Our story

Where it started. Where we're going.

Family owned in West Central Illinois since 1981-still measuring carefully and installing to last.

History

From broken panes to a full-service shop.

Steve Cramer founded First Glass and built the company with Carol. Six years in, they bought the former LeGrand Service Station at 46 Public Square to make room for more. After remodeling, First Glass moved into two adjoining buildings-one dating to 1916, the former gas station built in 1941.

The shop grew from replacing broken glass in homes and businesses to storm windows and doors, storefronts, commercial windows, auto glass, mirrors, patio doors, insulated glass and more.

1981

Steve and Carol Cramer start First Glass in Galesburg.
